my radius arms and panhard rod brackets on front axel look like swiss cheese.

I see yrm do replacements, had a quick search on here and only found folk mentioning that yrm do replacements.

Has anyone actually fitted them and do you have any tips for getting them on in the correct position.... Other than my norm of measuring and drawings :)

What im working with.

I nearly looked at getting them, but my brackets were worse than that once I stripped the axle off, so I changed the whole casing.

Much swearing and sweating and i have the passengers on on ready to tack into place.

Its no fecking easy thats for sure but i reakon ive got the position pretty pap on.

Will say the pan hard rod mount on the yrms is a bit skew wiff ( when compared to the two axles i have here ) but ive rectified that , i guess thats the issue when they build em off the vehicle.

some after market repair pieces are a pretty poor fit does make life harder

Ach it wasnt far off james , im just a fussy ####er so i cut it off and put it back on at the right angle.

I must admit the yrm stuff ive been using is far far superior to the repair panels ive used from paddocks im the past. At least yrm make an attempt to be the right shape , ive had stuff from paddocks that ive looked at and had to wonder what it was trying to be.

Cross post on photos for the future searchers.

Knowing what i know now i would agree - get a new casing how ever im in the north east of scotland. Used spares are hard to come by and those that do are pricey.

Looking great worth the effort when ur done knowing u did it 👍 ohh and b and q want all their clamps back 😃😃😃

Just for the sake of it ? Nowt wrong with those ones , itll all get a coat of paint and youll be none the wiser ;)

Got galve spring seats waiting to go on top of the shock mounts mind you .

Looks very promising so far. Give us some pictures when you've got some beads of weld on them.

Accurate positioning looks like it would be very fiddly. What were you measuring from? Are there any good datum points?

Mrs top drive managed to drop test my welding today......

In front of my garage door my axel has sat on 2 axel stands for a month......

Today i found it on the floor....and a corresponding dent in the back of the blingo.

Walked in. "How did you manage to reverse into the axel " - " what are you talking about"

"You didnt hear that hit the floor before you drive forward" - "how do you know it was me" "theres a dent in the back of your car at the height of the axel"

Busted.

Its still in the same place.

Oh and i used the swivel housing flange as a datum and the shock mount and the bump stop.

Its in exactly the same place as the old one - and double checked against the drivers side one before i welded her up , not got any photos of it welded as i had to go pick up a laminate floor and put up a stud wall for my mate,
