Wheel Bearing part number/sizes

Would someone here know the wheel bearing sizes or the Timken (or SKF) part numbers for the inner and outer bearings on the front and rear axles of a Defender 90 (300tdi) ?

Yes, that is the kit - do you happen to know the bearings part numbers or sizes ??

That's the Land Rover part number which corresponds to:

Timken# LM603049/LM603011 taper roller 1.7812" x 3.0625" x 0.7812" bearing.

Is that the inner or the outer ?
Are they the same front and back ?

The A&S Fersa part number is KA050 linky
The4 SKF part number is SKF LM603049/011/Q

The reference to design/size/tolerance/load bearing etc is ISO 355:2007

So would an American manufacturer (who most likely is manufacturing in China) be any better/worse than a European manufacturer ?
Cheap unknown Asian brands are most likely akin to the US's Mexican varieties, ie low quality and should be avoided due to poor quality control etc.

OEM's will no doubt apply a quality vs cost model so why is it that Timken are "the best" ?

Timken are OEM and are what LR fit as 'genuine'. Unless you go and find ceramic versions, you wont get better. As suggested 2 per wheel and they are all the same.

Timken's can be found fairly cheap online, I usually go with Paddocks.

It's amazing the price differences out there ...

This is the most complete "kit" i've found <Linky> although it's obviously not Timken bearings ....
The cost ranges from circa £15 + vat to £13.97 inc vat <Linky>

Timken bearings seem to range from £7 to over £27 each
