It's the 2.5 td because that's what I've got in mine and it keeps me on a nervous knife edge. You just don't know when it's going to blow.

Right. I've had a 2.25 petrol in a series, ok in a series but underpowered for a 90 or a 110.
I've had a 2.5 n/a in a 110. Not bad at all really, good enough if you don't put stupid big wheels on.
I've had a 19J in a 110. Again ok but underpowered. Not really an improvement on a 2.5n/a.
Then I've had a few discos with 200tdi's. These will pull a 2 ton disco and whatever size trailer you want to stick behind it, even with big wheels on.
They're as cheap and easy to service as the earlier diesels and more reliable. That's why I'll be putting my current one into my 110 soon. Ample power, reasonable economy, reliable, and no stupid electronics that I don't need.
So it's 200tdi without a doubt.
