Afternoon,

Limped home, couldn't get my fan cowling off,

The noise coming from the pump sounds like the bearings have gone yes ?

Any help gratefully received

Grab hold of the fan and see if you have any fore and aft or sideways movement. If you haven't the chances are that your pump is OK.

Then let your system cool down until it's safe to remove the expansion tank fill cap without scalding yourself, and then start the engine with it off.

If you rev the engine the level should drop as the water gets pumped around. If it doesn't, then first of all check for leaks, and then take your Landy to a garage and have the system proessure tested.

Come back with your results.

Fan doesnt budge,

water level is as it should be,

when turning the pump manually it sounds rough, bearings could be on the way out,

Also found a small rip on aux belt

Have you taken the belt off and spun by hand? Just to eliminate everything else

Yeah,

Thankfully already had a spare pump, was going to put it on D1 over 90 as I was doing timing belt,

Not looking forward to it though
