Im about to start building myself a new toy (a trayback 90 with all the extras) im going to order the galvanised chassis soon but i can decide what engine to put in it....
300tdi or 4.0L V8

its a tough one...
do i go with the 300tdi because it almost indestructable and runs well in water
or
go for the v8 purely because its sounds amazing and i get over the fact that it dosent like water that much and can be a bit unreliable

any thoughts???

Go for a V8 doozil, that way you can have your cake and eat it!

Very true, but is this project going to be a toy or a daily drive? If its your daily drive then go for a tdi. If not then it sounds like you already know the pro and cons so go with your heart. I did and I don't regret it for one second and will never tire of the noise of a V8

its going to be a weekend toy n maybe used for an occasional run to work a few times a week, i already have a 300tdi 90 CSW, so i wont be using it all the time
