Me clutch went all soggy last night - turns out to be a fracture in the rigid pipe just before it meets the flexi pipe that runs to the slave

Seeing as it was a right bitch to get out which required the split pipe to be bent at angles i dont think it was intended to be bent to (cos of everything thats in the way) - can you think of any reason why i can't get a full length flexi replacement made up cos i would guess putting a rigid one back in isnt going to be much fun?

or .. can anyone find me the part number for the long (about a meter) rigid clutch pipe that runs from the master across the bulkhead down to the flexi pipe join ?

i think the dogs have buried me parts book in the garden

Don't haddocks do em. The thing with flexi pipe is that it expands when you pressurize it which int a good thing, an to get a braided one that length would cost a bob or two.

Craddocks isnt very far from me but i've now got 3 dead vehicles on the drive so i'm trying to find the correct part number to place an order for delivery in the morning - bit hard to figure out from Craddocks/Haddocks text only descriptions

me rave CD is damaged and it's taking an age to download again, can't even remember if it covers the 89/90 100

point taken about the long flexi length - thought as much, if it's not silly money i'll get one made cos replacing the rigid length back via the route it came out is quite likly to damage it

hmmm where's me bicycle

Have you a local accessory shop that makes pipes up bent to shape, take the old one in with fittings and get a nice new copper variety should be less than a fiver

yer but it's a right convoluted route with lots of bends n twists - don't think it'd survive the bending that's needed

HI Sean
if its the same route as the series 3 i know what you mean , but the copper pipe is easily bent and it wont rust too, easily done at home if shop wont bend it

Tip from my motorcycling days when additional oil pipes were required, small bore copper pipe can be filled with water, then stick in freezer overnight, you can then bend to any shape as the ice prevents crimping.

cheers i might try that if mr pirtek wants me right arm for a nice bling braided flexi one in the morning

note to self - dont put yer parts cat on top of the wardrobe

NRC8330 - in case i forget by the morning

Pirtek'll want ovver twenny quid I reckon, the original clutch tubeing is a bigger dia than ornery brake tubeing a local shop may not stock it.

yer and it looks like it's made outta SS show i doubt if simple copper lines would have been up to it - i dont mind if it's £20 - 25 as it'll save me the pain in the arse job of threading the pre bent one through the route it has to take.
