Rattling front pads!

Does your defender sound like a train going along, well mine did! After a bit of hunting I found a different brake pad retaining kit to try out. It seams to have taken the slop out of the pads but only time will tell. new pins at top and old ones at bottom.

Yeah they fix it. Put hundreds of them on and they've stopped every one

Yep Tdci uses very similar wire pins except they hook around the pins at one end

Is there a part number for this kit? The closest I found is LR009769 but doesn't seem to be exactly this.

+1 im fed up of retreiving the normal spiral things that work their way through the pad.

I think the number is LX0165, whether its a landrover number i'm unsure.....

Do these retainers prevent the front pads "rocking" in the caliper housing?

Any other improvements?

mine were knocking when going over bumps because they were rocking I found putting a more heavy duty spring over the pin stopped it
