Play in transmission

Is there anyway to take slack out of the rear diff get a clunk from mine nothing too bad but just makes changing up not very smooth

Check gearbox output and transfer input for wear

It feels more like its in the rear axle

sounds daft but is is definitely not a broken or ungreased rear universal joint?

No they are fine

I had severe clunks from back axle, replaced my rear drive flanges and it took lots of the clunk away from pulling off, replaced one of my half shafts an all, trying to source the rear rh half shaft now. But it has solved a good bit of my clunking ...got a photo of the flange and how worn it was

This was ma old drive flanges. Suprised me how much clunk and backlash these caused

I had a front one about half as worn as that which caused a lot of clonking

I will have a look it has done 180,000 so that sounds that could be possible
