Hi.
Im going to paint my converted station wagon in military olive drab, what i need to know is how far back sould i sand my original paint ??
Also will i need to primer the whole vehicle first ??

Also what would be best , mat , satin , gloss ??

I was thinking of nato green but it looks to pale for me.

Just flatting it to give the new paint a key should be enough. Most people I've talked to who've done their's reckon to go with the satin, as the matt tends to be quite difficult to keep looking ok, cause if you get any oil etc. on it it's hard to get off and streaks. How are you gonna apply it, spray or roller?

I did my 110 in satin Nato Green with a combination of a 4" roller and a 1" brush.

First time I did it in a sandy desert colour but didn't like it. So there's a nice thick layer of paint on it now :D:D

Cheers for that, your nato green looks like the olive drab im going for ??
i looked at nato green but kept finding this pale colour which i dont like ..

That just looks like a really old paint job that's faded... either that or they added white emulsion to it! Mine is deffo Satin Nato Green

mine wer nato green, as is me sankey , but i had it flatted off and sprayed coniston green, the two pack fard finish , looks better .

if yer hand painting it, just flat it off till the paint work looks dull, use wet and dry dust it off with compressed air, then wipe down with a rag and some celulose thinners, this gets all the dust off but also slightly softens the old paint ,

I get my paint from the local car paint supplier, satin, synthectic. All below done with a short pile gloss roller.

Right i am considering the 2 colour camo pattern below but what colours are they ?? also how much paint would you recomend to do the 2 colours

I was going to get a 5 litre tub to do it in one colour and i would have some left over,so if i do the 2 colour pattern would two and a half litre tubs of each colour be enough ??

Here's my 90 with matt NATO green. I just slapped it on with a brush. I've tidied it up a bit since this photo was taken. Just wanted it to illustrate that it's a very dark olive green:

Anyone no the colours of the 2 colour camo paint job ??
also the green on the right is different to the one on the left any ideas on this ??
cheers......

NATO green, light stone.
When I did mine, I painted the whole thing light stone and applied the nato green with an aerosol.
