What size are those nuts? Are the adjusting nut and lock nut the same size?Never taken them off before, I presume you use a massive socket? Expensive?

Is there an easy way to get the old seals out or is it just a case of knocking a fine chisel in and levering then out? Presume the new ones just tap in until flush with housing?

Hub nuts are both the same size and size is 52mm can get a 1/2 socket for about a tenner.
Or a hub nut spanner can be gotten slightly cheaper.

Anything else???? :)

Oh and old seal should come out fairly easily.
New seal will push in by hand most of the way. I usually tighten the seal retainer gradually to seat it fully.

Cheers guys. That's all for now, Pikey. :D

Aaron, painted the rear axle with rustoleum today and it looks great ;)
I'll do the front one when I get the swivel seals replaced.

:tea: Yep 'tis now my favourite paint now, I usually chop and change but I'll be sticking to this now :)

I brushed it on as well, When it's dry you can't see any brush strokes.
Axle stuff had 2 coats, Mainly because they're a bit fiddly and I missed odd bits.
Any my other thoughts where these will got the most hammer.
Whereas stuff like the pedal box's only had 1.

Yeah, it's amazing. I was painting in good sunlight and thought I had been very thorough. Finished, cleaned the brush in panel wipe, checked the axle over and noticed little bits I had not quite covered. That makes me feel better, mate. :)

Got the radius, trailing arms etc away getting bushes pushed in. If I get them back this week I may be ready to get the axles back on the chassis. I might put some pics of the rebuild up then. I'll feel as though I have passed a milestone :D

It's easily done mate, They're not the easiest things to paint.
And yeah get some pic's up mate :) Nice clean axles and a shiny chassis :D Definitely feels good when you get it back into a roller again.
