Right, so I ordered some plastic plugs part no. CZA4705L to replace some broken plugs in my door frames.

These are the plugs that act as anchors for the screws which hold my door trims on.

However, when these plugs arrived I found that the shaft on them was square, and not round as on those fitted to my Land Rover. Appparently CZA4705L superceded RTC3744.

Can someone tell me whether RTC3744 has a round shaft on it or if it is also square. Also, are these actually the correct parts or am I going in the wrong direction completely?

To all owners of Ninety's or One Ten's: how are your door trims held on - are they secured with screws into plastic plugs?

Hopefully someone can help; these are the sorts of parts that I hate; small and fiddly and hard to find the correct one, especially on older LRs.

The door trim on my Ninety is held on with small, push in, plastic inserts (round ones). On the trim panel are plastic studs that slot into the back of the panel and push into the inserts in the frame. They are not screwed on mine.

I've replaced both the parts in the past from lrseries.com. I can't remember the part no. though.

I got a load of these recently for my door cards, after galvanising the old one were a bit, melted!

Thanks to all those who replied above. It seems that someone has given up on plastic clips in the past and decided to use proper screws on my vehicle.

I am asking about all this as I just bought a whole lot of stainless screws to replace the ones that are in there now (some are getting fairly rusty), but in the process of removing the old screws I discovered that a number of the plastic anchors are broken or worn.

I don't think I will bother with Land Rover's plastic clips if I can avoid them, I'd rather use my stainless steel screws and try and find some plastic anchors for them aftermarket somewhere. I have very little confidence in LR's plastic interior trim components!:)

Yeah, to be honest all of the ones broke off when I took the door card off, glad I had bought a complete set, not just a few. It is nice and solid now though.

Problem is I need to take the card off again as I need to put the lock back together...
