rok, so I have a retro fitted 200tdi.
The heater unit was overhauled prior to the engine swap & was TOASTY on the old 19J engine, all new foam seals replaced & was perfect.
t...
I also have a digi water temp gauge fitted as well.
I KNOW the 200 tdi engine does run cooler but...

As per other threads my heater doesn't blow hot...

I have changed the stat.
I have sealed the air leak into the engine bay.
The hose pipes to the matrix are BOTH hot to touch.
The heater flap valve wire moves when tried...
I have no coolant loss.
There is lots of air flow throughout both outlets into the cab.

Any ideas apart from removing the whole unit?

Thanks for any comments
Chris

Some of the new stats are ****, last one I bought didnt open at all!, one before that opened to soon, now have a good un, engine runs pretty much constant 90 degc.
Are the cables actually moving the flaps, especially the one that diverts the air around the matrix?

Thanks for the replies guys
I was thinking along the same lines.
The cable does move, well it moves the flap lever...

I did think the connection from the lever to flap was broken or not right...
But there is a temperature change when operating the control lever.
Warm or Cold...

Looks like I'll have to remove the heater box & look inside :-(

The most common problem is the inner siezing in the outer so you move the lever but the outer is sliding through the clamp resulting in no movement at the flap.
Check the operation of the lever / flap, bet it is siezed.

I had another play on Saturday, I can't believe I didn't see it before...
The heater control lever had full travel & free movement.
The heater flap lever on the box operated freely, so I assumed something was broken between the flap lever & the flap...
NOPE
It ONLY needed the cable adjusting, the flap wasn't fully open when the control lever in the cab hit the max stop- so cold air was still coming through.... DOH

"Litch" was on the right track (I think), but rather than seized the cable had slipped through the clevis a bit...

Heater now TOASTY :)

So much, a pax this morning asked to turn it down a bit.... (Now u don't hear that often in a Landy)
Thanks for all the comments/ advice :)
