Hi to all,

Is it possible I can receive confirmation that in the later model 300tdi defenders the front UJs are larger than the rear ones?

97 service manual lists RTC3458 (TVC100010) 75mm size for both front and back. It is my understanding that models 2001 and younger carry larger ones (82mm) in the front props. Is this correct?

I'd rather be sure and have them on hand before I drop the front propshaft.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the swift replies. Would this however apply to younger model 300tdi defenders? I believe I have confirmed that the ones up to 97 would carry the same size for both front and rear.

I'm interested however in the models made for export market up to MAY06.

I assume there are similarities with these and the later model td5 defenders with just the difference being in the engines.

My understanding is that the UJs on the front props are 82mm in width in later models as an upgrade due to the shorter front prop being under more strain/load during operation than the longer rear one.

Anyone here who can confirm this?

Thanks

Well my 2000 td5 has the same size front and rear....

By the time you get an answer you might as well have whipped the prop off and measured the ones on there.....!! Good luck, A
