I was in the bush Saturday going through recently cleard land.
Dropped my front right wheel in a deep hole.
Deep enough that I rested on the chasis.
Put her in reverse and she jumped right out and into another just as deep.
Put her in reverse and she came out with no worries.
However I could now hear a pssssssst.
Sure enough the limestone hole had gouged a 3 " slash is the sidewall of my lovely BFG.

I quickly drove out of the bush while I still had some air and put the spare on.

I took the tyre to the local tyre wizard just for poops and gigles, no way could it be fixed.
The man fixed it with a big patch inside.

But I no longer trust the tyre.

What a great vehicle, AND alll done with my new suspension with no problems at all. It really was a deep hole.

Just saying.

He patched the sidewall up:eek: Thats crazy, all the strength is in the sidewalls, the constant flexing will rip that patch to shreds and will result in a (rather nasty) blowout!

My bfg always go on the side wall i have 2 nearly new tryes with slashes in the walls

Must say I was quite disapointed with the BFG's!

Also had one of them making a clicking noise, I retired that one to the spare.

Perhaps I should try a different brand.
It would be a shame as the remaining tyres still have lots of tread.
