checked em all boydy,de-fluffed em,cleaned em up an checked em,all ok.
just makes no sense whatsoever.
i think i,ve found the cause of the original problem was the wire from the alarm that makes the indicators flash when you arm it had chaffed thru under the air filter box,and as far as i can tell thats what was causing the short.
its got to have caused some damage some where else,but be buggered if i can find it.
its like its getting power from the wrong feed but when checking thru all the wirin it aint

Did you remove or replace this wire? And is the alarm also connected to the ignition system?

rite afta yesterdays expedition down south
the offending wire as been removed
as for the alarm being connected to the ignition.............damned good question dunno,but i shall deffo ava look,hmmmmmmmmmmm

Sounds like the chip in the alarm system is buggered, and when you turn the ignition on it gets all confused, making odd earths etc. See if disconnecting it from the ignition, which it is probably fed from, makes it work ok with the engine.
