Defender 90,Handbrake sticks on

I have had the same problem with mine, usually after a session off roading. What i had to do was strip the handbrake unit down (this is the large drum on the rear of the gearbox) remove the actuator unit strip it clean and grease all the parts (sounds harder than it is). Also check the condition of the gaiter that the cable goes through on the back plate for any splits that can cause ****/water to enter if so fit a new one. Dont over adjust the shoes when refitting they shouldn't be binding! If you buy a haynes manual it tells you step by step but as i say its not very difficult.
