After getting rid of my Disco I have finally got myself a proper landy, a nice G plated 90 2.5 NAS. IT has huge wheels and is very clean for its age, the only problem I have is that I'm used to to the power of my old 300 and find this very sluggish and unresponsive. My brother will not let me cut up his daily Disco 300 driver for his engine !! (sod)

I know that the 200TDi will go in without too much problems as indeed will the 300 (if I swap the mating faces up on the 90 box, from what I'm tol) but I have access to a 2.8 TD from a Delicia and have been offered a V8 to play with too !!!

Which of these (V8 or Delicia) would be easiest, I believe that my baby has a LT77 type box (very long gearstick with reverse in top left).

Someone must have done one of these or both or all of them, any ideas ???

:doh:
:confused::rolleyes:

jus bein picky, but NAS stands for North American Spec, you mean NA - naturally aspirated.

However... The sensible person in me would say 2.8 doosel, but from a delicia itll probably have electronics, which arn't really a good idea on a LR if you ask me :)
Also, i have heard extremely mixed things about the 2.8 jap engines, like some for no obvious reason return ****e economy, or crap power, etc.

The fun person would say V8...
If its a Rover V8, then they are a well known engine, spares are easy to find, its just the fuel problem.

You will need a taller xfer box though for the V8 or its power will be wasted.

Personally... id wait it out a bit and get a 300 Tdi, or a 200 if you want to buy an expensive exhaust pipe.

As Boydy said , Id hold back till you find a 2-300 tdi , wish i had the money for a 200 insted of my 2.5td . damn slow and even slower on hills , but offroad shes a gem crawls over almost anything on tick over ( as i found out doing the Gap last weekend ) .
