With all the recent thefts in my area I want to get an alarm and remote central locking added to the defender, any folks in the south East that people would recommend?

a big dog, wire it to 240 volts, and shotgun next to bed, if they are not of any use take out front wall and park in front room.
On a sensible note spend as much as you can and park it where it can not be lifted. pedal box, anything that will take the thief more time to remove. there are loads of threads on security have a search through them

It has a few security features to immobilise, but looking for a way to notify e.g. alarm going off, maybe sms me, plus would be nice to get central locking..

Central locking is easy - plenty of kits out there - Maplin, Fleabay or even Halfrauds.
Only difficult one is the rear/back door. It can be done but is more difficult to do.
