I have a disco 200tdi rear axle, its 10 spline, if i unbolt the whole half shaft with callipers ect from the axle itself will it just slide into the 90 rear axle if the diff is also 10 spline..?
 
If I remember right I left the ball joint in my 200tdi axle and removed the 2 long bolts that held the whole thing in, if its just a matter of slotting that back in that it should be simple enough.

That sounds a lot more sensible, unless ball joint is worn?
May be worth getting new bolts before starting, iirc they are shouldered and harder than 8.8?

Well before I decided to change the rear axle I wanted to change the ball joint because it was knocking.
I think....

Well thats another job to the list haha :)
