90 custom work needed
greetings all i am new here, just got our first Land Rover a few months back as a bit of a project and "big boys toy" for our sport of Airsoft.
we got a B reg defender 90, and are in the process of making it look more army like, as it will be used for the games and weekend events. i know this sort of thing is not liked by all but i did not have the cash at time to buy a MoD one, and this way i get to learn as i go.
anyway what advce can you give please on taking the spare wheel from the back door to put on the bonnet?
and i would love to have some way of adding a hatch even a sunroof to the hard top of the defender so i can use this as "top cover" during any games. to have this hatch either behind the front seats or at the rear would be ideal.....do you guys know of anybody who may do this sort of custom work.
thanks,
Andy

Re: 90 custom work needed
Hi mate, this is what ive done with my roof, for foxing (also not to everyones tastes) on our farm. I'm in East Yorkshire if your anywhere near, can make you one up and fit it in a weekend no problem. Could do it in a day if you didnt want it painting, hope this helps. And sorry about the quality of the pic, someone needs to update the forum to accept better quality / bigger photos.
cheers

Re: 90 custom work needed
ok so i havent worked out how to use it properly, but the pics i took with my camera were way to big a file to work?? And as for welding comments, its a hatch in a Land Rover, on a farm, for agricultural purposes, not an overland gas pipeline!!!
cheers

a good weld is as quick to do as a bad weld - so why do such a poor job ?
unless you cant weld ?

Re: 90 custom work needed
We knocked it up in an afternoon after being sick of shooting off the wing mirror, beleive me ive jumped up and down on it and its solid!!! I dont care if it doesnt look perfect, it was done with a stick welder on a farm and it does the job. I wasn't asking for help with my welding or asking for comments about it, just trying to help Bump out, why is it some people on here insist on pulling things to bits if they dont like the look of it?? (and no dont leave a comment about pulling those welds apart, be original!!!)
cheers
