Hi , can anyone help with info please , can somebody tell me the diffrence between a standard 110 salisbury back axle and a heavy duty salisbury back axle . And would anyone have a heavy duty one for sale.

cheers Dave

never heard of heavy duty salisbury please enlighten me?
6x6 are you going to 101 size halfshafts as well if so you will need to make new stub axles and bore out the hubs to bigger bearings etc

Hi, no just changing to 101 ratio crownwheel and pinion and fitting Detroit locker diffs :D mmmmm

I thought all Salisbury axles were heavy duty and all Defenders had rear Salisbury axles.
It was the front ones they economised on and put some cheaper axles on except for the snatch and armoured Defenders where they put Salisbury also on the front.
I recently put a Salisbury on the front of mine as my original was bent. I have noticed the overall weight of my Defender has increased by some140 Kilo. I took it to a weight bridge.?

they are ,but they did do h/d salisury as well as std ,you cant tell by looks between the two ,you need the number prefix on case to tell

good morning to you , iirc std drum rear 21s ,h/d drum 24s,std disc 39s ,h/d disc 38s all share common diff and drum can be made disc by bolting parts over from disc
