I'm just finishing a td to 200 tdi mod just thought id add that the oil cooler pipes from the td will fit onto the housing of the tdi oil filter housing.
This is then able to reach the rad....

And i used the clutch from the Disco tdi onto the td gearbox... All works fine

A small money saving tip! :)

Um sorry if I'm being blind but what about the engine mounts? Do I use the ones in a 90 or discovery??

19j mounts, drivers side is simple, passenger is one of two possiblys, I hung engine in position and fitted that mount.

Badger, finishing it this week end. May get a call yet :D

I am gonna use the 19j rad till I can get a new disco rad and reduce them felling brackets. :D

The engine is a non turbo does that matter??
So basicly the 200tdi just bolts in on the old engines mounts from the 90??

Hello all!, Just done mine ( 200 disco into defender) and after reading most posts on this, I completely Ignored you all and did it my way! (i can feel a song coming on!!)

Kept 90 gearbox, changed flywheel housing, changed engine mounts and threw it in with the front end loader! Exhaust took an hour with a grinder and welder ( plenty of room!)
td oil cooler pipes fitted 90 rad, so no messing aout there or expensive trips to Pirtek!!
found a top hose, used disco bottom hose, low pressure pipe fits from 90, high pressure pas pipe fits from disco, kept 90 rad, no need for an intercooler at all! 2.5 bhp i can live without thanks!!! and less lag!! ( if you need more power than a 200 tdi get one of those 5 cylinder thingys that fall to bits!!) and that was about it! Oh yes, use disco throttle cable and filter bowl.

All in all 12 hours work! Dunno what all the fuss is about!!!

Well done.

For.my pas I used old TD pipe and used disco pump. I found a bolt that fitted the back of the pump, cut it down and drilled it to make a banjo bolt, works a treat!
I tried ushering the TD pas pump but it is impossible as the disco pas pulley does not fit the TD pump.
Can't take the pump and alternator bracket off the TD or else it fouls the turbo.
Used disco alternator just cut off the TD's connector and wired the 2 big browns to the brown off the disco alternator. White wire is the rec counter on the disco I think so the only wire.left is brown/yellow stripe that corresponds wiff the TD's brn/ylo wire.
TD oil pipes, used TD rad, disco fuel filter. Aint even changed the temp sender, mine reads middle of temp gauge:D
Did some fuel pipe mods, and put in a fuel priming bulb.
I will a fing on that, it is so simple and is brilliant:D
