Window rubber supplier.

Anyone found a good window rubber co. I am taking out the rear glass for painting and want to bin the tatty seals.

Looking around its going to cost about £50.

Woolies trim do this sort of stuff by the metre.

Just got my parcel from Woolies. All seems well and quite a few quid cheaper than anywhere else.

I do like brown paper and string. You just know the bloke packaging has a beard and pipe.

Got some boot and door seal to try on the back door as well. Looks good quality.

Is that rubber double window channel suitable for a truck cab?

Sorry I have no idea. You can always try a bit and let us know how it goes.

I am trying the tubular door seal for the rear door. Or I will be when the roofs back on. Not sure if it will work but worth a try for a few quid.

When I did mine lo these many years ago that is what I used on the curved side windows - the seal with a lock strip that has one slot sized for the ally, and the other at 1/4" for the glass. So, if it's like that (I do not have the Woolies' site open to look at) then I would say yes it will work nicely.

Just redid all of the seals on my Series I 86. Rather than buy the by-the-foot stuff as sold very dearly here in the States I went prospecting in a scrap yard. I found a bulb type seal that had the same form as a sample of the original and bought two doors' worth of that from a minivan (Dodge Caravan - awful things, but useful for parts).

Installed this using 3M double-sided trim tape and it looks and works great and installation was a doddle. Sure beat hell out of weatherstrip adhesive or rivets - much cleaner and faster.

Question tho'- why are you painting the glass?
