Hi,

Looking to fit a full set of inner and outer wheel bearings to my 1975 S3 88" Diesel as part of a full axle refurb.... Dunsfold and others seem to offer Timken and NTN bearings as OEM part replacements, but I was wondering which ones were best (given that they appear to be very similar in price)?

Any knowledge from any of you more professional landy-bashers out there would be greatly appreciated

I used Timken for my wheel bearings and also half shaft bearings in the chalices. Interesting that some Timken bearings said they were made in Portugal, Some India and some USA if I remember correctly.
I've never heard of anyone having any issues with the Timkens

Thanks Guys... Timken were my original choice, but Dunsfold did not have a full set in stock so offered me NTN. so really wondered if anybody had any experience of NTN bearings and how they stacked up against Timken as I have not come across them before?

There is nothing at all wrong with Timken or NTN bearings - both are top quality, just be careful they are not fakes...
I recently bought back an RRC with French Timken wheel bearings on 232,000m,when I regreased them at 194,000m they were like new.Just goes to show how well components can last if used properly and are well made in the first place....
