Hi all the time has come at last for me and my farther to get another series landrover to enjoy with my son, my earliest memory's are with my dad in his old green swb full tilt 2a me and my dad loved that car. We would love to get another series landy so my son can experience a propper old landy. I have had a disco and they are great cars but not a old series lol.

We would like another full tilt but there are rare and expensive now, is it possible to convert from a station waggon to a tilt??? I thought the roofs bolt ob but i might be mistaken lol we are on a tight budget and don't mind haveing to get busy doing work to it.

Does anyone no of anything going cheep lol

What do you class as cheap? Do you want a project or a runner?

Know of a S3 with O/D (which is worth near enough £500 on its own)

going for £600 at present - not been run for nearly 10 years, but, should be restorable, not tax exempt mind

As long as it is possible to get running realy. The old man is a mechanic and mot tester, I used to be a welder and now work for wurth so I can get all kinds of cool stuff to treat rust and prep lol

Easy to convert hard top/station waggon to tilt, all bolts off. Be patient and you will pick up hood sticks from this site or Fleabay.

hi tom look for something a little unusual check out all the landrover clubs to see what you like then join one there are oddities within the clubs ie ex army navy raf ex gpo landys with the syf plates try according to budget buy the best you can afford take a club member with you for their expertise do you want perfect or a resto job good luck

What should i look for and avoid when looking for a series??

Solid chassis, solid bulkhead, corrosion / pitting on swivel balls, too much oil dripping from bell housing drain hole, rusted away rear floor support channels.

Everything is pretty much repairable but you want your boy to ride in it before he's 14! The rest (eg. Model, year, colour, body style) is personal preference IMO.
