I have original series1 workshop manual, part no tp109a on the cover and tp109b on the first inside page just to ask would this have normally covered the whole vechicle as there seems to be some sections not covered

Not sure if it will be of any help but do a web search for smithies landrover should come up with a NZ site where you can download some series 1 manuals

yes thanks for that link, I have the s1 manual but have been craving for the parts catalogue for a long time.
