EDIT: IT HAS NOW ALL BEEN SCRAPPED.

I will soon be chopping up the old chassis for my series 3 SWB.

Most of it has been heavily patched, and has some very poor welds holding it together.

However, the rear cross member had been replaced not long before I got it. This would probably be recoverable if anyone could use it.

The middle cross member with the hole for the PTO shaft through it also looks good.

Are any of these bits worth the effort, or should I just chop it all up and take it to the nearest scrap yard?

Thanks for the replies.

Definitely worth cutting the good bits out. I did this when I scrapped my old chassis and put them on ebay at 99p start. Probably got about 50ish pounds for the bits and the rest went to the scrap yard.

Where are you located? I could do with the rear cross member up and including the rear spring hangars. Also got some rot under the hole of the mid crossmember coming through.

Ta.

Here is the chassis as of today.

The front end is held together with some very bad welds. It also has various patches and rust holes so I'd say it is junk.

The rails that the rear tub sits on are also junk as they are very heavily patched.

Inside the main chassis rails are all quite flaky as is the usual from what I've read on here.
