Removing 15 layers of Nato Paint?

So - after many a happy year painting my Landy with Nato Green and Black with various hand brushes, I've done it at least 3 times and the Army probably half a dozen before that.
Thinking of a Fresh Bronze green job for a change as it's been camo all its' life.

Any ideas on the fastest way to remove the layers - to metal?

After reading a few posts seems like the EU watered down Nitromors and the like so no nasty chemicals are around anymore.

Just started using a Heat gun and though slow, does seem to melt through.
Any ideas?

Have you got any old brake fluid as it shifts paint , also thinners will on some paint.
Used Nitromors on my roof but that was about 4 years ago B&Q only sold environmentally friendly ****e which did not remove paint.appears they still make strong stuff but need some industrial user form????

Leave it with its nice thick protective coats of paint. It will prevent rust/oxidisation of body panels and looks more authentic. Nice Landy.

Brake fluid eh, will that get it down to the metal?

I've tried the latest nitromors, the white stuff, but like you say it's rubbish and just sits there for hours. Remember the old stuff used to make it peel straight away - probably in the 80's!

Tis an idea- I'm thinking maybe it might be easier just to sand/grind it flat then apply another coat...

just tried a blowtorch on the front wing but again only goes through a couple of layers and very slow.

Thanks by the way, I like it, had it for 16 odd years, just MOT'd it again and insured it yesterday for £70!!

paramorse available from any car body/paint supplier still works unlike nitromorse although when i did my series 3 ambulance i sandblasted it i dont reccomend that though bloody messy and gets in everywhere

This was the active ingredient in old Nitromors...

Have you tried a paint stripping disc on a grinder?
I must admit, I only have one which I just started using, I think it is a coarse one but still remoes paint quickly!

another paint stripper that works is strypex coshe form has to be signed but its good stuff
