When I join the exhaust mid-section and silencer section using one of these, does it require any chemical sealant? If not, do I just put the bolts through and tighten the two square flanges together onto it?

Thanks for any info.

Shouldn't need anything on the joint, but this is a landy so never trust the clearances! I'd always use a smear of exhaust paste.....

I've just done mine, not you don't need any paste, tip for getting the old one off is an angle grinder, chances are if it's been on long enough to need replacement, the bolt head will be a rusty powder!

Thanks for the replies.

It's a completely new stainless steel exhaust system, so the faces were clean. I did put some paste on it anyway, I thought that it wouldn't hurt.
