What do you reckon?

Rough but probably ok and doesn't need re-registering
Land Rover Series 2 | eBay

Or

Tarted up, needs an MOT and registering
Series 2A Land Rover, 4x4, V8, Hill Climb, Off Road, Track, ATV, NO RESERVE | eBay

My gut feeling is to go with the first one but if any one would like to add their valued opinion............

Personally i would go for one that hasn't been messed with so much and do it up yourself

Land Rover Series 2 (SII) 88", Petrol, Barn Find, Spares/Repair Restore | eBay

You're right about that tarted up one, its a bit rough really and its got one hell of a rats nest of wires under the bonnet, also looks like there is some thing missing from the spring hangers in the other pics the bloke sent me!

The stage one is but it'd be worth a bit once repaired

I couldn't see the thing about it being registered as a hybrid ? Just it using the engine and box. Plus its a much tidier looking conversion than the two you posted and doesn't look like it was done in a pitch black shed

Checks out with the DVLA as a "land rover" but comes up on the insurance web sites as a 70 - 86 3 door range rover AND its two grand more than I have right now :p

Hmmmm ain't got the skills!

This looks good though
1980 Land Rover Series 3 | eBay

you seem to have a knack for picking ones that are a challenge :D

looks good, nice and tidy, but no mot dodgy electrics and re-registering I would pass it by,

I think if you want something like that you would want it to be fairly local, Cheshire to dorset is a long way to get it delivered, even if you hire a transporter that's a lot of fuel, and from what you said in the other thread its already at the top of your range

might be worth checking if the chap has the import paperwork.

I likes a challenge :D

Must be patient, the pot gets bigger every time I get paid :D

Dr drivel I should add I'm after a road legal weekend toy for pay 'n play and green laning so I'm not fussed about it being a bit bashed about

I'd find out if he has the paperwork

Or offer him full asking price if he registers and MOT's it, if he agrees or says he will for an extra £100 or so then it'd be ok, if not he's lost it

I can sell you a V8 if you want :p but the only spare one I have here would probably rip any series apart!

Its pushing more power than a Cummins 6bt in stock form :D double the HP and an extra 175ft/lbs

I could even lay my hands on a 1200hp blown and penta-carbed methanol injection engine  its sat in my mates garage waiting for a buyer if anyones feeling suicidal ?
