I know there are seal kits for front doors but can anyone tell me if there is anywhere that sells a full kit with everything, the bit I need most runs along the floor, I think it has a metal plate to hold the rubber down.

The problem is a couple of weeks ago my little lass drop a ds lite game off her knee and started crying as it had dropped through the door, I turned around and we did find it luckily, one happy 5yo :)

If anyone has such a thing or can point me in the right direction I and Maisy would be very thankful

Hi, I bought my seals from Dunsfold Land Rover as they stock genuine old stock LR parts. If its the bottom of the rear door, I bought some adhesive seal from Seals Direct online. You might just be able to make it out from these pics.

Land Raver, your Series is gorgeous, I thought mine was nice but wow.

I have the seals and the metal trim strips on the front doors of my Series 2 but on my 2a they are missing, I know I can get the seals but it is the metal trims I need.

When I get chance I will get a pick of the trims on my Series 2

Thanks Paul.

I think I know the strips you mean. I can't say I've seen them advertised but if the usual online providers like LR Series don't stock them, Dunsfold LR may well - they buy crate loads from old warehouse stocks around the world and often come across obsolete items. Don't rely on their online parts finder search option, try giving them a call as they often come up with something and will post

Are the metal strips which run inside the seals available separately? I bought a length of the seal strip from Paddock Spares, but this doesn't include the metal strip.

Land Raver, I have had a quick look at LR Series web site but will have another look after work or give them a call, I never thought of Dunsfold as I thought it was just a Museum after watching a 4x4 is born, so thanks for the heads up on that.

Webley1991, I will be taking the strip off my Series 2 when I get home at lunch to see if I can just make one up but not having many bending tools, I might still have to buy one but when I get it off I will post a pic on this thread :) providing the weather is fine enough as we have had not nice stuff up here the last few days

So Gentlemen, it apears that there is no Metal strip that holds the seal in place, on my Series2 it is a lip above the seal which is part of the iron work which is the sill itself, however on my Series 2a there is no lip on the sill iron and no holes for the seal to be riveted/screwed.

I have tried to post two videos, one of each vehicles sill but am having no joy, looks like I am going to have to buy new sills or fabricate a strip to be screwed into place and bore holes for the seal to be secured

I was referring to the metal strip that runs inside the length of rubber seal.

There is a hole moulded into the rubber for it to go through.

Ah, that would make sense as on my Series 2 the seal has been glued to the sill rail, I thought to put washers big enough to stop the screws pulling through the seal but it is supposed to be a strip inside the seal? I have looked on here http://www.retroanaconda.com/landrover/parts_books/90/9_body_chassis_p794-923.pdf for the strip and can only find the sill bar with the lip that is over the seal.

This is so difficult for me to explain without being able to post pics, just hope the link works how I intended as it is showing the sill bar with the lip of which my Series 2a does not have but my Series 2 does
