How were the front union to flexi hose brake pipes originally routed?

I have a pre-assembled copper brake pipe kit. The pipes in the kit are much longer than the ones I removed, which are obviously not original.

The green book has a diagram of the brake system, but where the pipes should go is not very clear.

Thanks for any info.

my series 3 ones ran drivers side on top of chassis to hose , passenger side to front then across chassis and back to hose can be seen in this pic.

I did a bit more on these today. This was a ready made kit of pipes which were supposedly the right length.

Now I need to get a tube cutter and flaring tool.

Is it preferable to route these undeneath the main chassis rails? This is so that the bottom edges of the wings don't rub on them.
