finally got 200tdi on engine stand ready to pressure wash,
question- I won't squirt directly on crank but I can't protect it from water ingress with flywheel housing removed.

will it hurt or should I put it back on engine crane and attach flywheel housing before washing?

Just blast it,I can see you have covered all openings including some I would not bother with. Guess you are going to change rear crank seal and timing belt and put fresh oil/filter before fitting also well worth fitting a new water pump especialy if it has stood a while.

cheers chaps, gave her a foam soaking then blast followed by jizer and blast, got most of it off so clean enough to strip now, kept gun away from crank and dried it quickly with compressed air after washing followed by covering with wd40.

Has everyone got a bottle of screen wash behind the shed door?

Looks great but its a shame that paint you nicked was all they had.

Well you wouldnt chose it would you. :D
