Default Can anyone help!!! Axles do u knw!!!

I was looking through LRO and i spotted a series 2a for sale with underslung axles. Does anyone know which axles i can use to do this myself as i am runnin a 2.5 ltr series 3 and would like to get my landi higher of the ground and need to keep to high ratio diffs. is this also a hard job or is it a case of placing the axle under the parabolics and turning the U bolts around adding a 2inch lift set of shocks and sort out the camber toe and the other one which i cant remember plus extend the steering column and make adjustments for the power steering. Any advice would be appriciated.

Don't do it.
It won't help your ground clearance, the lowest point is the diff casing, can give all sorts of problems and by all accounts makes it a pig to drive on the road, and unstable off road.

hi there, I have done this myself and i would say DONT DO IT. I did it from a technical view point on a series 3swb. Not only do you have to alter the dampers but you need longer flexi break pipe etc but the real killer is the prop shafts. As you have inclease the york angle then you need to get specialist ones made up and they are NOT cheap. Also mine was a dog on the road afterwards and has i had increased the centre of gravity i dare not take it off road. The other thing to consider as well is that with the axles below the springs then you get alot of unsprung weight with the axles and the wheels. BEST ADVICE NOT to do it... Before doing it give your insurance company a ring and ask them if you are still covered and then ask them for a new quote if you go ahead.... Make sure that you have a cardiolagist on standby...

Easy, to increase ground clearance, just fit bigger tyres.
