1972 series 3 SWB new purchase

I am new to the forum and LR community ;-) I have just brought my self a SWB 72 series 3. I am chaffing at the bit at the moment as its being delivered. It seems to be in great condition and extremely low documented milage 33 thousand. its got a large file with it money spent MOTs etc previous owner had it 10 years. Its got a working original Capstan winch which is a nice bit of kit it has parabolic springs and procomp shocks, free wheeling hubs, overdrive.
Its still on its original frame which is in good condition for its age. I have organised to have it Schutzed" to help give it some extra protection.
Any tips as a new owner ?

Lovely truck. You should get some good use out of her with the promised snow.

Looks like an interesting old motor, clean and tidy panels and paintwork. With landies it is always the chassis and mechanics that are important, try and post up some underside and underbonnet pics when you get it home.

It looks really great. I'd love to build myself a decent series Land Rover one day.

But because it was created elsewhere it doesn't have the series 1/2/3 bit in the title

Its my favourite colour too I think thats what draw me to it to start with.

Mmm thats another reason I purchased it. I have moved from london to Wales now live on top of a hill with a narrow track just did not fancy getting snowed in as my main car is not practical.

I would love it to be my collection. Sadly it is not, the picture of my landy was taken in the garage I bought it from.

That looks like a nice Landy, be prepared for a culture shock lol.

Why ? I have driven some old landys in the past but never owned one. Any tips ??

Not so bad if you have driven them, you know what they are like. If you go straight from a car to a Landy it is a cultural shock when it comes to speed, handling, leaks, noise.

I still miss my Series 1 86" even tho it was as noisy as sin and leaked like a sieve.

What's the name of that colour? Just rebuilding a 2a and considering a respray!
