Ive been spending money again, Ive ordered:

a Full Floflex Polyurethane Bush Kit - Series 2 and 3 109 inch,
a pair of axle straps
a pair of bump stops

all for £ 72.67

not bad ey

now Ive took the rear springs apart, cleaned them and re-riveted two of the clamps back on, also ive greased each leaf and put them back togther with a thick layer of grease all over, Ive left out the leaf with the bushes untill I get my new ones fitted.

started panel bashin too, on the nearside front wing, I unbolted the wing side for easy access.










Lovely stuff, apart from the smell,


I painted these one night last week,


This is the grease I used, my uncle used it on his truck wheel bearings back in the day of owner/driver.

lovely box arrived at my parents last wednesday, full of goodies.

spent most of building a bonfire, good quality fun,

start removing spring bushes tomorrow, thinking G - clamp and a long socket or bench vice should work.

blow torch is handy, when all else fails burn the rubber out, and drift out the outer sleeve - it's a horrible job if they are stuck

don't inhale in the fumes

lots of grease on the new outer sleeve before you drive them in

Copper grease preferably 'cos it stays where it's put.

Going up your neck of the woods this afternoon EVB, up on the moors and see if the fords have any water in them.

the old ones came out using the threaded bar, nuts n washers and abit of tube method, helped with a heathly smack from the hammer.

the slid in with a dose of silcone gease no probs, I`ll use copper slip or rocol in the tubes when I come to fit them.

From Pickering , up past Fox and Rabbit then left into Lockton, Levisham village, stopped for soup and sarnies at Levisham Station and then went through Cropton Forest. There are restriction notices on this road now so I think I could have been in trouble if anyone had thought about reporting me to authorities. Turned right at Mauley's Cross and went towards Egton Bridge over the moor and crossing three fords. Only the latter two had water in flowing quite fast but not very deep.Mixture of heavy rain and quite a bit of fog when climbing. From Egton Bridge took the Aislaby Road towards Whitby and went through a lot of deep standing water then pulled into Sandsend car park for coffee and a look at the sea. It's still there, as wet as ever and a bit angry yesterday. Down to Whitby for fish and chips, then the main road past Fylingdales and eventually home about 2210hrs. No lanes as such, lot's of water about and we enjoyed the run.

1 in 3 road up each side of Levisham Station - I remember it before the station and the lines were put back in, as we used to pitch our tents down by the stream!

Many's a time back in the early 60's when we would laugh at the nuggets trying to get a small car and it's caravan up the hill Great fun, and a good profit for the locals with tractors!!

Hey, its been a while, but Ive made some progress such getting the back half of the chassis welded up, new underneaths to the legs complete with strengthing plates, the rear crossmember welded on, Ive also got the rear axle stripped, painted and fitted.

Ive started on the bulkhead which will be a little bit at a time job.

so progess is been made but time and money seem to rule it

Ive got quite alot done since the last post, The bulkhead is off the vehicle and laid on the worktop in next doors kitchen....... and I need 2 hours too finish the welding then this thing called christmas arrives and work stops, oh well roll on boxing day

It'll all get done in time. You do what you have to on Boxing Day and 'er indoors and I will think about you when we're up the moors that day. We won't be trying Esk Valley ford though - it was 3'6" last time we looked at it. Happy Xmas!!
