Hi folks, I know its late but merry christmas :).

Ive got a little done the today, the vent rubbers on the offside had been poorly fitted, so ive took it out and turned up side down and refitted.

Ive not had a chance to do anything with the engine yet.

one damn nice landy there mate and its not a strange youth at all i had a series 3 88" when i was 18 just wish i still had it

heres a tip from personal experience with my own cars in the past

the tin tray (hubcap thingy ) you have balanced on the chassis rail holding your screws nuts n bolts
make it easier on yourself and put an old speaker magnet in that itll stick wherever you want to put it and it wont spill yer bolts n things evrywheree if you drop the bugger
save yer a fookin fortune in the long run that will

Thanks for the replys guys,

cheers for the tip john, Ive got some old speakers somewere should do the trick.

Im having a few probs with the "CAV" injector pump,
the fuel is at a good pressure going into the inlet side, but then only dribbles out of the injector pipes, Ive bled the whole system a few times but no joy.

any ideas?

anyhow on a slightly more joyful front, Ive got the offside wing off finally, the footwells dont seem too bad, of course the odd hole here and there but nothing to shout about.

onwards and upwards

The old 2.2 BMC diesel is a slow revving engine but with bags of torque at low revs and although you won.t go very fast it will get you there and it will pull anything. Can't help with the pump problem; whenever we had anything like that happen on the old taxis that used this engine we just swapped the pump for another that we had lying about. Unfortunately they have all gone now otherwise you could have had one. Might be worth giving Eric at the Diesel Shop a ring. He's not far from you - York. The number is 07885780717. Mention Bob the taximan at Selby and he will look after you.

Nice one young fella. I'd say it's a safe bet it was in the fire service, with the badge, the row of switch's and the paint, and probably the engine, was part of the Carmicheal conversion. Any sign of a bloody great pump being bolted to the rear? Keep up the good work and Happy new Year :D

Hey guys,

Did we all have a good night ?

rain stopped play again with regards engine work, but I did sit inside and scraped some of the loose flakey white paint off the roof to reveal the cream underneath it .

Im going to insulate it at some point with some 3/4" insulation board and 1/4" or 1/8" ply which will be painted cream also.

Im also thinking once she on the road and I have some reddies saved again, Ill get a canvas tilt for the cab and leave the tub open in summer, just a little unsure on the colour with the landy being red, I would of thought white/ cream will be a bit unpractical for keeping clean.

do any have any thoughts / ideas?

cheers in advance.

Yep there is a wee hole there, think Ill be getting a new front leg and chop n change as need be unstead of trying to make one quicker and cheaper in the long run.

I did two years of welding and fabrication at college and I use it quite offen in my job so I can stick two bits together ...... ish :D,
what red for the tilt ? that`ll be a lot of red.

I had`nt thought about grey hmm possible, who does them other than "All wheel trims" cos their`s are very nice but a wee bit pricey for me being on apprentice wages or is that all the irish cider that I drink  :D
