Right then , my summer project last year is up for sale, It is an 89 LR90 pick up with all the paperwork, repainted in arctic white a few years ago, few dinks here and there but all in all a lovely truck with a bit of character and a few ongoing jobs for a DIYer.
I was lucky last summer and found an original 200TDI defender to transplant the engine from so original mounting points and no modifications to make it fit!! I changed the intercooler to a 300TDI unit to give better hose positions for the intercooler pipes and replaced them with silicone and ally pipes.
The oil cooler is bypassed as the old hoses did not fit tightly enough but these could easily be replaced or re terminated. The main coolant pipe is also slightly kinked but allows free flow so not a problem. Could be easily replaced. Drivers floor was recently removed and welded up for the MOT so will last for a long while now. Made from thicker steel than original !!
Selling as I have been made redundant so please only contact if you are genuinely interested.
It is sold as is and expect to get a well used pick up truck, great chassis and body, with a few scratches and dings but nothing major at all. It will come with lots of spares, most of a tow bar set that needs fitting, seat covers, spare thermostat, new lock surrounds and a set of used of off road tyres attached to a set of 4 alloy wheels.
V5 present and MOT passed in Nov and regularly used but only on road. All in all a great truck !!
