I have weird problem with my freelander one 2.0 diesel. 1998

When its cold and started up it runs really smooth and ticks over just below 900 rpm.

Once it is warm it feels like the engine becomes quite rough, the temperature gauge is fine in the middle and it revs ok and drives fine but feels a bit rough at low revs, like when you start on a very cold day and a choke kicks in.

When stopping at the lights the tickover creaps up above 1100rpm then drops back down again, but only when it is warm. Once warm when you blip the throttle it feels really rough but when its cold it feels super smooth and running nice.

Fixed this... I took off the Maf cleaned it with contact cleaner and also cleaned off the plug pins on the unit.

Its not overevving when warm on tickover.

Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.

Hi matey,

1st things first.. :welcome2:

Well done for putting your fix on here.. lots of people come on here with problems, but not many post fixes.. so if thats how you solved your problem, well done.

Get ready for abuse of the tratter boys.. But just take it as banter.. they are all bitter and twisted cos they spend all their spare time with a mig welder trying to patch their rustbuckets up...

Take the banter with a pinch of salt, and youll be fine.

Happy motoring!
