hi there ive a td5 defender with an msb ecu, i had the clutch go a few years back so when i had the clutch changed i had a tdi 300tdi disco box put in... me not realising it had a hi low sensor on the box.... to which i found had been cut. now i have put a defender box back in without a transducer initally to what i thought drove like a dream any amount of power using my satnav as a speedo but since putting the correct transducer on the box, to learn there was a hi low sensor on the box....

its been mapped by td5 alive, so i have stripped the lead that would go to the high low box switch and put a wire between them with a switch.... when i disconect the transducer from the box the car is a hell of a lot more powerfull, when i plug it in it seems very slow and laggy.

please help :(

Call 5 alive for tech assist, they offer that feature

i have he says i can go down when i need be but saves me 130.00 in fuel :/ if anyone knows what it could be

So why do you think you need the transducer? If it runs good without the sensor connected then leave it unconnected. The TD5 has two differring throttle mappings. The one for low box means the pedal is less sensitive and uses all of the pedal range but in Hi box the pedal only uses about the first third of the pedal range between full and no throttle. Gary at 5Alive just mapped both my pedal settings to the same so I have full pedal travel no matter what hi/lo I have seleceted. Makes the motor much more driveable and eliminates any leg bounce causing kangarooing on rough ground in hi box.
