Im after a recon rear diff as mine has pretty much self destructed, I was going to rebuild it but I havent got all the tools to do it correctly as well as lacking the time!!

So who do people recommend, I dont want ridiculous priced but I dont want crap either. Ashcrofts do a recon for £306 but thats at the very top of what I want to pay...

I have though about slippers and air lockers but im not really fussed unless I can get a good price..

Either that or I go second hand but they are all high miles now days so I may not get better than what I have!

Any suggestions?

Ian popped round earlier and we got talking about lockers... think that may be the way to go. Had another look at mine and I think its not quite as bad as I thought so gonna reset pinion loading and wait until I can get a locker... do keep thinking of an LSD as well, cheaper and essentially offers the same traction...

Just had a look on eBay £245 full recon diff, £ 745 for full recon with Ashcroft lockers.

Try Devon 4x4 I just got a Detroit locker for the rear as mine self destructed and a trutrac for the front, been used on 2 events and then sent to crown diffs (Steve is very helpful)

I bought if from a company who build winch challage trucks and I was buying them as used,

Arrived and Steve had fully rebuilt them in to new cases with new bearing, with engineers blue still on them, £800 for the pair as new, well happy,

Hi ive got a few good axles if you get desperate i could take a diff out or you could use a full axle !! lockerss are all good if your into serious off road etc but an expensive modification , also lockers need to be used carefully in a landy otherwise you will destroy halfshafts real easy !!!! you would also need a pump etc to run loockers !!
