Does any one have any experience or knowledge of rebuilding trailer hitches?

On my car transporter trailer (braked) i have a Bradley tow hitch fitted. The other week I had to slam my brakes on whilst the trailer was loaded with a jaguar and now my hitch has movement.

The hitch used to move with a lot of resistance forwards and backwards on a ram so the brakes were applied smoothly.

Now there is about an inch of movement with no resistance. This means when im towing when i slow down or pull away there is a loud bang every time whilst the inch of slack is taken up.

Ive stopped using the trailer for the moment. Does anyone have any knowledge of how i can repair this?

sounds like you need a new ram...

trailer ram | eBay

Ahh i see, so thats whats inside them. For the price of a new ram (which of eBay could be poor quality) I can buy a secondhand replacement Bradley hitch.

Thanks for the help
