No, that'll come OUTSIDE the "well, some things" caveat!

ah! ffs Adz - are you saying that if Grippa broke down in Cumbria and you were asked to help - you would tell him that you couldnt, because you had no insurance?

or if OD asked you for the name of a local indy in your area, you would ask to sign a disclaimer?

I am fine with the idea and have no problem with coming out to help if someone is in trouble. I normally have most recovery equipment and quite a few tools and spares (prop uj's, coolant pipes, radiator bungs, lights, wiring, relays, fuses, innertubes, tyres etc) to hand too. You just have to make sure you breakdown when I aint working.

WTF is it with you and your extreme examples this week Daft?

If it's a mate of mine of course I'm going to help them... if it's someone I've never heard of who's just joined the forum on the recommendation of someone else I've never met of on the forum then I want that disclaimer! Be it verbal or written.

Like it or not, we now live in a litigious society with a compentsation culture where anything unfortunate is always someone elses fault. You can't just bury your head and pretend we don't. Where's that quote of Ratty's about having to attend regardless of circumstances or he's likely to get sued...

Yeah, coz if Adz gave me the name of a dodgy indy in his area, and he did a bad job, of course i'd sue the arse off of him!!!

The customer might notice if I sloped off halfway through a rescue.

If one of you guys was stuck or broke down somewhere within reach of me on and I was free to get to you then I would help out; but it would be on the understanding that if the front end of your vehicle got ripped off when I floored it to haul you out of the Surrey car park you got stuck in then it's your own problem
