 This is probably a question that has been asked before but I am having trouble getting info on removing the old grease from my swivel housing, I have a 1998 300tdi, it has a filler at the top but no drain plug, I am geussing it is a non service item but I do wish to change the grease & I am assuming at this point the only way I can do this is by dissasembling the whole thing, cleaning & then reassembling & then adding new grease. If anyone can advise it would be much appreciated.

Ps, Gday from Oz.

Thanks for the quick response, I had a look at busters guides, I have double checked there is no drain plug ?????

If your swivels don't have drain plugs then they would have been filled with grease rather than oil from new.
Landrover will tell you that the one shot grease does not need replacing except following dissassembly and maintenance.
So unfortunately the only way to do it is to strip, clean, reassemble and regrease. Even if you had drain plugs it would take forever for the grease to drain out, if it ever did?

Thankyou waldershelf & bobbler, I figured that might be the case, I will grab a new kit tommorow, I will do the seals & bearings while I am in there.
