can anybody help me with a dangerous braking issue??

hi guys i have a 1995 3.9 v8i discovery the issue is when i step on the brake pedal all hell brake loose. there is a brief grindy banging noise then the wheels lock up followed by complete brake fade and panic from all occupents of the truck! i have no knowledge of brake at all but i can hear what i belive to be the abs pump firing up while all of the above is happening? if anybody has any ideas they would be very much welcome thanks very much joe.

First thing id check is the brake pads sounds like they are down to the metal and do it quick !

When were the pads and discs last checked ?

sounds to me like it's got a faulty nut behind the wheel.

Jeez man, as a wise man (my dad) once told me "there's no such thing as a stupid question, only a stupid answer" but I'll make an exception here. Please don't waste your time on a forum asking for a solution to a MAJOR mechanical problem, you have by your own admission, no skill to fix at home. No offense implied. For your families safety, and other road users, take a SLOW trip to your very nearest mechanic/kwick fit/whatever. Give them money to fix this problem. End of.

Get it picked up on a trailer / flatbed / beavertail / forklift / JCB.....

any clue getting through......

Ok ok, I get the message! My bad. I didn't mean for him to drive across the county to a garage, I'm lucky enough to have a LR independent 200yds at the end of my road and next door to him is an Autospeed. I was kinda thinking along those lines. Of course the trailer option is the best way.

the only help you need sir is to assist you to the nearest incinerator and set fire to your licence, if you have one that is,FOR CHRIST SAKE MAN!!!do not drive untill fixed when fixed park in garage and put it up for sale,:doh:
