Hi all,
I'm up in Shropshire this week and was wondering if anyone was out in the area who could guide me round the local lanes. I used to live here so i know quite a lot of local places but have never driven any of the greenlanes so would be grateful for any guidence
Cheers. Pete :)

I'm not able to get out this week mate unfortunately, but there's a few lads on here that lane regularly around Shropshire so I'm sure there's someone who'll be willing to have a trip out.

Welcome to LZ btw. ;)

Thanks Steve!
I've got a week up here with the family and thought it would be good to have a day out laning sometime this week.
Do you know if there are many lanes around here suitable for a standard Disco 300tdi on A/Ts? :confused2:

Do you have memory map ? or printed out maps ?

I am in Telford and happy if you want to pop around I can show you where to go.

Unfortunately I am off work right now with a bad back so I cant get out myself but always happy to help or you can give me a call. Send me a pm if you want.

I will say a lot of it is well muddy and slippy right now

Hey,
Was thinking about getting out weds/thurs, I'm up here till sat so any day this week would be fine. Would defo help if someone was along who knows some good passable routes, especially as I'm in an nearly standard Disco!!

Towards and around church stretton is the place to go

Only a couple of lanes North Shropshire and they will be mud holes right now. A few over bridgnorth way but most of them are short and again probably well muddy

sent you a pm anyway i am happy to mark a map up or something for you but back well screwed and house bound currently

OS explorer 217 church stretton is the best then OS explorer 201 covers clun area. If you only 1 want then got for 217 plenty of lanes you can do that wont be affected by weather and safe to do on your own. Besides wouldnt be the first time we have gone and rescued someone from a field down there :)

Could do Thurs if you both are interested. Was around a few of them Sunday. Fallen trees were the only issue really. The slate based lanes are holding up well

Come to stretton the lanes are solid and easily traversed in a road going car no problem for a Disco
great views off the Long Mynd if the cloud isn't to low

And at the end of this track is a good pub !!

Theres easy 2 days worth of lanes around Church stretton, Clun, and that area with a bit of everything nice easy stuff to great fords as well as sunken lanes, great views.
In fact could stretch it out to 3 if you took it easy

Who is coming Thursday around Long Mynd area. Meet at 10am in Telford area to do a few en route as well. You will only need AT tyres and lanes are non damaging
