Re: Peaks Planned TROs
"Until that happens monitoring will continue on the use of these routes by 4x4s and trail bikes."
There ya go folks - an opportunity to show how responsible we are when using the countryside .

Re: Peaks Planned TROs
FUCK!
****S!
Wont stop bastard horses with their fat arsed owners riding on them, chewing them up to fuck will it, but oh no, nasty motor vehicles, the spawn of satan, with all their baby whale killing Co2, (in other words, fucking plant food).
I fucking hate socialists. I mean, I really, really despise the utter, utter, utter, utter, utter do gooding, Labour voting, anti car, kill joys.
I hope that their tits fall off, and their dicks get nob rot.
Of the lanes mentioned that i am familier with, i cant see anything wrong with them.
BASTARDS!

Actually, having re-read the OP and subsequent replies, I'm really disappointed. This is very narrow minded and shows just why some people might want to get rid of geenlaners completely. How would people react if this is what they thought greenlaners were like?
I know, I'm a responsible countryside concerned individual, I'll go to a landrover enthusiast's forum to see what they think about the state of some UCRs and BOATs and what they think could be done to sustain them. Oh look they're just ranting and raving about how all other BOAT users are bastard twa'ts and being obscene.
Yep.
Sounds about right to me.
I'm not often sensible, and quite often I'm a complete dickhead, but that's really got my goat.
Sorry to pick you out disco I know lots of people do the same it's a good place to vent.

Re: Peaks Planned TROs
It's a question of being sensable isn't it?
Before I reached driving age, I was a keen cyclist, both on tarmac, and the rough stuff. Many of the girls I knew rode horses. Never knew one of them that wouldn't use a bridleway because it was getting too chewed up.
Often these bridleways would be unrideable once the mud had dried after the horses had finished chewing them up to buggery, but I don't ever recall the council restricting horses use of bridleways because of this. Oh no, it's always the fault of the nasty car driver. Everything is these days.
If I was to go out laning, and I came across a section of lane that was badly damaged, or I felt that if I carried on, I could do some serious damage, then I would turn around if possable.
Now, I'd put money on the fact that half of those lanes mentioned above aren't in as bad a state as we would be led to believe. Chances are that once they have been closed to vehicles, they will always remain closed.
And if they are closed to vehicles due to the dmage that is being caused to them, then perhaps they should be closed to horses as well? Yeah right, fat chance of that.
Worry not guys. Just another little bit of freedom taken away from you. Go out and buy a Prious instead, just to conform with what sociaity wants you to be.

Re: Peaks Planned TROs
And having just re-re-read the link, I am still reading it as being that over a short period on time, all of the 23 routes highlighted, will have vehicle bans put on them.
