Morning all, Im in the North east been looking/planning a route out for me and a few mates around Northumberland.

Benn looking at Memory Map, Northumberland Council web site, and Google maps to get from A to B.

The Question is Regardless where you are in the country, Would you go down a road that is Marked with -------------- on Memory Map, Google maps and the good old TomTom directs you down it as the quickest route from one place to another but you get there and theres a sign on the gate which says Private Keep Out??

Any one from Northumberland may know what im on about its called The long drag, it takes you from roughly the bottom of Slaley Forest to the other side of the Fells near Allendale.

Why would Google and Tom tell me to go this way if it’s Private? Has this sign just been put there??

Any help/comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like a bridleway, but to be sure, check the key on the map. So obviously, the answer is no. TBH you'd have to ask Google or TomTom why they direct you along it. I have a sat nav too but I don't religiously follow it and drive off a cliff, etc.

google or tom have never sent me down a bridleway before unles sits only just turned to a bridle way and origionaly was a road.

even on the council website its not listed as a BOAT or Bridleway, think ill give them a call and fine out.

thanks
