Oh right, I thought you just meant a few months ago!! Well, if you fancy revisiting then let me know..!

right, me the ballast and the wood carrier were up there this morning. used byways from pretty much compton (J13 M4) all the way to the restricted part of the ridgeway. twas a good morning laning and the ballast is a legend with maps ;) interestingly, the berkshire road atlas and os map are at odds as to what is boat and what is rectricted but we managed to stay pretty much on mud all the way without incident. I took the liberty of having a look at the west berkshire council type website last night and found out what was legal and what wasn't. the lanes are used and in good nick, not too rutted and obviously used by respectful drivers, we only encountered a couple of dog walkers and mountain bikers who were all smiles and full of love for us and our landy :D i will probably be going back next sunday to do a bit more exploring, so if anyone wants to come and investigate, give me a shout.
nice :D

Hi Fleck, I'd be interested in joining you - sounds like they would be a good 'starter' lane for me and my standard RRC! Could you let me know if you're going? PM may be best!! Cheers!

There are two or three just north of Towcester but the gates seem to be shut most of the time. Maybe the local authority are letting them recover?
I've found Cambs & Wilts to be well worth a visit. OS Ranger maps for the area are invaluable.
Regards
