I did my first day in Shropshire last weekend. I had always avoided it, despite it only being a few hours from home, because people said it was flat and a bit dull.
We got lucky with the weather and I have to say it was a really good day out. Everything I love about green laning. Not all severe climbs and challenges at every turn, although there were a few, but fantastic scenery, great and varied lanes and hardly any tarmac in-between.
What really made it for me was just how nice all the locals were. 3 or 4 people stopped us for a chat and the horse riders we ran into were everything those in the Peaks are not and kind of confirmed my opinion of the Peaks attitude
